At 12:00 am on June 20, the first embedded piers of Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge were successfully installed, marking that the entire bridge project officially entered the stage of ‘offshore assembly’.
In order to lift the piers to the base more stably and accurately, we arranged the rosette, vibrating wire strainmeter on the spreader to monitor stress conditions of the four slings when lifting.
Piers installation is divided into 5 links: sling lifting, pier lifting, pier positioning, precision adjustment and spreader demolition. After whole process monitoring, data comparison and analysis, the piers were installed successfully and achieved the design requirement of the vertical error between 0.014 and 0.019.
The completion of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge successfully connected the three cities, and greatly promoting the economic development of guangdong with closer and more effective communication.The implementation of this great project will lead to more bridges with similar geological and hydrological conditions adopting similar technology.
